THE DOMINICA CITIZENSHIP AND PASSPORT PROGRAM

The Citizenship Program of the Commonwealth of Dominica was established by an Act of Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica. Details are contained in the Citizenship Act.

In 1993 the concept of Economic Citizenship was introduced. Under the amended Act the Minister is allowed to waive the residency requirement for persons investing in Dominica. The investment requirements have been established by the Government as outlined below. Details can be checked by your attorney. Note that this is a social investment in the country. You do not receive any return on your investment. It is a gift to the people of Dominica.

This is an excellent program for persons seeking a second citizenship and second passport for tax, travel or security reasons.

DOMINICA

Dominica is a ruggedly beautiful English speaking country located in the Eastern Caribbean with spectacular hills and valleys, waterfalls and rain forests. It is a popular tourist destination for Americans and Europeans, particularly those interested in diving and eco-tourism. The country’s infrastructure is good with excellent water, power and communications. The Government is democratic with UK type parliamentary elections. It is a member of the British Commonwealth.

NOTE: Do not confuse the Commonwealth of Dominica with the Dominican Republic, which is a Spanish speaking country in the Caribbean.

COSTS

To be eligible for second citizenship, an applicant must give a non-refundable gift of US $100,000 to the Government. This covers the head of household plus spouse and two unmarried children under 18. The cost for an individual is US $75,000.
